I’m passionate about enabling mothers to live a life of purpose and discover what life can be like when you give yourself permission to love yourself.

Too often our needs come last because we believe that in order to be a good mother and wife, we should fulfill our loved one’s needs first. However, I know that in order to love those around us the way they deserve to be loved, we must first love ourselves, unconditionally. We must fill our own cups.

You must put your own oxygen mask on before you help others.
When day-to-day life is overwhelming – constantly running between school, chores, work, and never having enough time or energy to do all the things on your list – self-care and simple looking after yourself ends up last on your priorities. And so you find yourself getting more and more short-tempered, and that Sunday picnic that you had planned perfectly in your mind ends up being a screaming match between everyone in the house to find shoes, wear clothes, get in the car, and where did the picnic basket go?!

The thing is, with gentle tweaks to how you do things, and how you view your existence you can eliminate that overwhelm and feel much more centered and purposeful.

I understand how easy it is to focus on getting the jobs done and care for everyone else’s needs before tending to my own. I became a mother for the first time in 2009 and again in 2012, by then my husband had already done four years of FIFO. I also have all my immediate family back in Denmark where I was born, and as much as I love living in Perth in Western Australia, it has been hard to establish a social network. Ultimately, I have had to rely on myself most of the time, and boy can that be challenging, when you are running on empty.

It wasn’t until I learned that when I put myself first, and value my own needs that everything else just flows. My husband is happier, the kids are happier, and I sure am a lot happier.

Through mindfulness and a firm self-care practice I have turned my life around from worrying so much about others’ acceptance and happiness that it would cripple me; to now living a life of abundance, purpose and fulfilment. And it is my life’s mission to assist other mothers to find their purpose also, by removing the layers of doubt, negative self-talk and overwhelm, and replacing it with encouragement, self-love and passion for a better life.

My certification as a Life Coach from the Beautiful You Coaching Academy is supported by my Bachelor degree in Psychology, Masters degree in Communications and experience in Business Improvement. I am well placed to guide you through this journey of self-discovery. To be your catalyst for calm.
